Built for the heart of your home.

The Crafta Counter Stool is designed to sit quietly and comfortably at your kitchen island. We build each frame in Wollongong from solid Australian hardwood and finish it with a handwoven Danish cord seat that contours to your body for surprising comfort. The woven cord offers a subtle "give" that makes this stool comfortable enough for long breakfasts, homework sessions, or evening drinks.

Why it works:

  • The Perfect Height: At 64 cm high, this stool is engineered for standard residential kitchen islands (usually 90–92 cm). It leaves plenty of thigh clearance.
  • Tucks Away: The backless design and compact footprint allow the stool to slide completely under your benchtop when not in use, keeping your walkways clear.
  • Built to Last: Traditional joinery ensures this stool won't wobble after a year of use.

The Details:

  • Materials: Solid Australian Blackwood, Tasmanian Oak, Walnut or American Oak; authentic Danish paper cord.
  • Dimensions: 64 cm (H) × 33 cm (W) × 33 cm (D).
  • Finish: Hand-rubbed natural oil/wax.
  • Origin: Designed and made in Wollongong, NSW.

Living with Danish Cord
Danish cord is incredibly strong, but it is a paper product.

  • Spills: Blot liquid immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can damage the fibres.
  • Cleaning: Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. Avoid harsh detergents or soaking the cord.
  • Wear: The cord will naturally relax slightly over the first few months of use, this is normal.

Timber Care

  • Wipe down with a damp (not wet) cloth.
  • Avoid placing the bench in direct, harsh sunlight or directly in front of heaters/AC vents, as extreme temperature changes can cause timber to move or crack.
