We work primarily with Tasmanian Oak and Blackwood, sourced from trusted Australian suppliers. Each timber has its own beautiful grain and character. If you’re unsure which would suit your space best, let us know — we’re happy to help you choose.
Yes — most of our pieces can be tailored to fit your space. Whether you need a different length, seat height, or a specific finish, we’ll work with you to create the perfect fit. Reach out via the product page or email us to start the conversation.
Danish cord is a natural, twisted paper cord that’s both strong and beautiful. It’s been used in Scandinavian furniture for decades and holds up very well over time with basic care. We use traditional weaving techniques to ensure both durability and comfort.
We’re a small studio based in Wollongong, NSW, just south of Sydney. All of our furniture is designed, built, and woven here by hand.
Because our furniture is solid timber and comes fully assembled (no flat-packs here!), shipping costs vary significantly based on the size of the piece and your exact location. Local (Illawarra & Sydney): We have set delivery rates for our local area. Rest of Australia: We calculate shipping manually to get you the best possible price from our furniture courier partners. Please email us at info@crafta.au with your suburb and postcode before you order, and we’ll send you a custom shipping quote.
After checkout, we will find the best courier rate for your address and email you a separate invoice for the shipping cost. Once that is paid, we will book your delivery. (Note: If the shipping cost is higher than you expected and you choose not to proceed, we can cancel and refund your order immediately.)
Automated shipping calculators are great for t-shirts, but terrible for 2-metre dining benches. They often overcharge or undercharge wildly. By doing it manually, we ensure you only pay exactly what the courier charges us — no hidden markups.
Absolutely. You can pick up your order for free from our workshop in Wollongong, NSW. Just write "Local Pickup" at checkout, and we’ll email you when it’s ready to organise a time.
Because every piece is handmade to order, our typical lead time is between 1 and 4 weeks, depending on the size and materials. We’ll always keep you updated on where your order is at — from timber selection to weaving and final finish.
To keep your piece looking beautiful, avoid placing it in direct sunlight or damp areas. Dust with a soft cloth and spot-clean with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Don’t use harsh cleaners. Over time, you may choose to oil or condition the timber — we’re happy to provide recommendations.
Because our furniture is handcrafted to order specifically for you, we cannot accept returns for a change of mind. However, if your item arrives damaged in transit, please notify us within 48 hours so we can claim insurance. If there is a structural fault, you are covered by our warranty under Australian Consumer Law. See our Refund Policy for full details.
