The Silvertop Bench balances traditional craft with practical design. We build each frame from solid Australian hardwood—your choice of rich Blackwood or Tasmanian Oak—using traditional joinery that is built to last.
The seat is handwoven from Danish cord, a material known for being incredibly durable while remaining comfortable and warm to the touch. This isn't fast furniture; it takes hours of weaving to complete a single seat, resulting in a tight, consistent finish that will patina beautifully over time.
Best for:
- The Hallway: A slim 38 cm depth makes it perfect for narrow entries (put your shoes on without blocking the door).
- Dining: The 125 cm and 150 cm sizes are designed to tuck neatly under standard dining tables to maximise space.
- End of Bed: Adds texture and warmth to your bedroom. Select 125 cm for Queen beds or 150 cm for King beds.

Made to Order: We don't pull these off a shelf. Please allow 4-6 weeks for us to build, weave, and finish your bench.

Delivery Costs
To keep things fair, we offer flat-rate delivery for our local areas and custom quotes for everywhere else.
- Illawarra Local Delivery: $50 flat rate.
(Covers Wollongong, Shellharbour, and Kiama). - Sydney Metro Delivery: $150 flat rate.
(Standard delivery to greater Sydney). - Regional & Interstate: Invoiced Separately.

Important for Flat Rates:
- These rates assume easy, ground-floor access.
- If you have limited access (stairs, steep driveways, or apartments without lifts), please email us first or leave a note at checkout, as we may need to provide a quote for an extra pair of hands.
Local Pickup
Live near Wollongong? You are welcome to pick up your order from our Cordeaux Heights workshop for free. Just select "Local Pickup" at checkout.
Living with Danish Cord
Danish cord is incredibly strong, but it is a paper product.
- Spills: Blot liquid immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can damage the fibres.
- Cleaning: Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. Avoid harsh detergents or soaking the cord.
- Wear: The cord will naturally relax slightly over the first few months of use—this is normal.
Timber Care
- Wipe down with a damp (not wet) cloth.
- Avoid placing the bench in direct, harsh sunlight or directly in front of heaters/AC vents, as extreme temperature changes can cause timber to move or crack.
